AirAsia flight attendant English proficiency requirement

If you want to be one of AirAsia members as Flight Attendant, you need to meet the minimum requirement under the Test of English for International Communication (TOEIC), a global English test standard.

For the Airasia steward/stewardess applicants, AirAsia has required for new applicants for jobs as flight attendants in countries where AirAsia operates to sit for the Test of English for International Communication (TOEIC).

“It is important for our flight attendants to be proficient in English as they are our frontliners and have direct contact with passengers,” AirAsia People Department regional head Adzhar Ibrahim said.

AirAsia, he said, could receive up to 1,000 applications a day during their open interviews.

“As the job involves highly technical procedures, good listening and understanding ability are essential,” Adzhar said.

“Our flight attendants need to have the essential qualities to project a positive image and maintain the significance of our brand,” he added.

ETS global division director John Kochanski said the scores for the global English standard were valid for two years and could also be used when applying for other organisations.
